This year I went on a complicated trip to Nevada and California which involved a wedding, car hire, accomodations in small towns, a horse and mule pack trip, and flights from tiny airports. All this involved a mountain of papers - maps, bookings etc. I folded them all and put them in sequence inside my EC neck wallet/passport holder and for the first time in many a trip I felt sooooooo organised and efficient. And still room for passport, cheque book and cards I was using without whiplash from the weight!
