After having Eagle Creek a suitcase/backpack for 10 or 12 years, I decided to replace it. Not because it was damaged or worn, but because I wanted something with wheels for those non-adventure trips and I knew Eagle Creek is the best. My old suitcase (World Traveler), has been all over the world, visiting at least 10 different countries plus lots of trips within the U.S. and it still is in good shape. They are literally made like a tank! Plus they hold lots of stuff, are well balanced and good looking. My new suitcase, The Tarmac 22, is a joy to pull through the airport and holds enough stuff for a week, easily. Plus it can be carried on the plane. What more could you want?

I've been using Eagle Creek products for over the last ten years now. Many of my pieces have traveled over 300,000 miles in almost every continent. Through this all, they have survived pretty much every abuse I've put them through and I am always able to easily pick out my luggage from the crowd. If you are considering Eagle Creek for Business or Pleasure, look no further and you will not be disappointed.

What a great bag! I've gone on 3 trips this year with this bag. It easily holds a weeks worth of clothing (OK, I'm a pretty good packer), and most important, holds it securely. After a trumatic incident with underwear strewn over the baggage belt because of a broken zipper on my last suitcase, I really appreciate the secure interior. Rolls nicely, too.

My EC Tarmac is over a year old now and I am pleased to report that it has held up better than any of my previous bags.

I travel for business excessively, usually averaging 2 or 3 flights a week. Additionally, I needed a bag that looked professional.

In the past, my luggage would be in poor shape after a year. My EC bag still looks great with the only visible wear on the hard plastic scratch plate on the bottom back of the bag and light scratching on the plastic around the corners.

I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a carry-on piece of luggage.

I chose this bag over Tumi and TravelPro and could not be happier with my decision. I am I bought it first and foremost because of the advertised light weight, and it is indeed light. Yet the absence of mass in NO WAY makes detracts from the bag s ruggedness. It feels really solid, never gave me any reason to worry that it was going to break, rip, or fall apart. But then, my World Journey (ca. 1994) is still in excellent shape, so I am not surprised! The way it opens in two like an oyster takes a little getting used to, but the added organization this provides is very helpful. Pack-Its fit just right, which pleased me in a sick sort of way. The front top pocket works great for handy 3-1-1 access. I have not had to check it in yet, which was as hoped - as others have noted, it fits narrow-wise in the overheads of mid-size planes if you load it in top first. Have to see how the international travel goes, though. (Truth be told, the dimensions at the widest points are non-conforming, particularly the depth of the bag near the bottom, which is closer to the 11 inch advertised as the expanded size rather than 9.5 inches. So you ll be unable to fit it into the test box at most check-in counters. But assuming you do not go through those, you will probably be just fine if flying within the US.) Also, the No Matter What warranty puts this bag head and shoulders above the competition! Thanks as ever, Eagle Creek, for making a truly outstanding bag!

Best products I ever owned. These bags have been around the world a couple of times and they hold up and I never have to worry that it is my clothes coming around on the baggage carousol. Please keep up the quality. It is the best and I recommend it to my other travel road warriors!

I love this bag! I travel anywhere from 1-3 times a month and this bag works great and holds up. The handle is study, the wheels are smooth and bag is very well built. I use the Eagle Creek Cube, Half Cube, and Medium folder to keep everything organized and neat. Also the bag is very light.

On the medium sized jets (Airbus 319, 737s, etc) the bag will fit in the overhead compartment short ways with the wheels facing out. On smaller regional jets like ERJ-170/175s the bag will fit long ways.

As a soft adventure tour leader in Mexico, I have the need for bags that can handle a variety of situations from airports to train stations to dirt roads and even some rocky trails. My gear from other companies never could hack it, so I bought the Tarmac 22. I can honestly say that it is the best luggage purchase I have ever made. The Tarmac 22 has exceeded my expectations at every turn. It has handled everything that my other gear could not. Furthermore, it looks great. It is easy to load and organized in such a way that I can find everything I need in no time. I also made a point to buy some extra accessories so that I could use the Eagle Creek Pack-It system with my Tarmac bag. It is incredible how well this works together. Packing is now more simple than it has ever been and I am able to find anything I need when I need it. Now, for the first time in my travel career, I never fret packing for trips. I simply wash everything and put it back in the pack-it folders in preparation for my next trip. I feel more prepared than I have ever been. Another feature that really impresses me about the Tarmac 22 is how well balanced it is. My wheeled bags from other companies would always fall over when fully loaded. Not so for my Tarmac. Whether it is fully loaded or not, it always stands upright, even when I have other bags stacked on top of it. And, to boot, it carries that great No Matter What lifetime warranty. You really cannot go wrong with the Tarmac ES 22.

Just love the fact that the bag stands on it's own with a laptop bag slipped over the handle. My old bags always tipped over.

An excellent bag and system - great for multi-destination trips. Fast packing, easy sorting, tough and very protective of equipment. But sadly just too big to meet EU carry-on restrictions. Even if it's only three-quarters full to meet the 25cm depth requirement, it's 4 cm over the 56 cm height restriction and won't fit in the testing box. That said, it has handled the hold luggae systems for dozens of flights, survived monsoons with any leakage, and looks and works as new.

Great bag. Have used a Briggs and Riley for over 10 years and love this bag because of it's light weight and compartments. Just spent 18 days in China and it was great. In the U.S. a trick to make it fit in the overhead is place the bag in top first and wheels up. Saves space.
