I borrowed my girlfriend's Packable Daypack for a trip to Costa Rica. Loved it, so bought one when I got home. It's been on every trip since, including a six week trip in Europe.
Usually, I carry on my regular backpack, with the empty daypack tucked inside. On my return trip, I can enlarge the backpack to stuff all my souvenirs in, and carry on my daypack. Of course, I use my day pack daily when I'm traveling, using the matching zip storage bag to hold my wallet, keys, and other small items. I have had several friends buy these packs. They're great!

I bought this daypack while travelling in Australia a few years back, and it's been great. It's small enough not to be a drag to carry around when not in use, end when I need it it is both big enough and comfy enough to wear all day. The straps are solid, the seams are holding up great, and the outer room big enough for a book or two.

There are some thieves in Portugal with good taste - they took my much-loved and well-used daypack. Very thoughtfully, though, they took out what they didn't want and tied the contents into a plastic bag. Still traveling, but would definitely buy the same one again when I get back home.

I've used this regularly as a day pack for city sightseeing and found it really useful. I agree with Louise that a twin zip would be better for security - perhaps on both pockets. Only downside is that the mesh bottle pocket is a bit tight for a 50 cl bottle with my thermal bottle jacket.

This pack is excellent in every way but one: the big top zipper is only one-way & I believe this is not secure: I prefer a two-way zipper so that I can choose which side to open/close it from.

I took this daypack on my trip to Romania. Easily packed in my luggage, I used this bag while touring the various castles, churches, monasteries, etc throughout the country. It held my camera, travel guide, various papers, plus any souveneirs that I purchased that day.
The bag is light and comfortable to wear. And when I got ready to leave to come back home, I just packed it back up in my suitcase (it takes very little space). Very handy! I will be taking it with me on my next trip.
