I am halfway through a round the world trip, and this bag, now nicknamed The Turtle, has been the best bag I have ever owned so far in a lifetime of traveling on business and for pleasure. (I tricked it out with a Pack-it Folder and lots of Pack-it Bags. I am now a huge believer in Pack-it Bags, too!) I only used the backpack option twice, but was truly glad I had the option, especially in the Tube station with a huge amount of stairs. The wheels are absolutely fabulous, best on any bag I have ever had. The bag handles beautifully on almost every surface I put it on, including cobblestones. No matter how heavy I packed it, it was easy to wheel.
I lent the bag to a friend going to Thailand and used her bag while I stayed in London, and nearly went insane from how clunky, heavy-feeling, and impossible her (well-known brand) bag was to use compared to the Cross Roads. I nearly did not to get the bag back from her, she loved it as much as I do!
I have packed insane amounts of stuff in the bag, and still have not hit maximum capacity. I can get way more stuff than the airlines will allow in this bag!
I am now traveling with a friend, and will shortly be stopping back in Colorado before heading out for Hong Kong and Sydney. We plan to purchase another Cross Roads for him while Stateside.
This was far and away the best purchase I have made for this trip! I really recommend this bag to anyone.

I bought my Cross Roads 25 in 2006 for a month long camping trip through Africa. The bag worked great! In fact, the wheels worked so well that I never used the backpack straps during the entire trip. I wheeled the Cross Roads 25 through the dirt, rock and sand of 15 different campgrounds from South Africa to Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia without ever hoisting the bag onto my back even once! While everyone else in my tour group was grunting and squealing from their heavy cumbersome packs, I was rolling through the African bush with my Cross Roads 25. The bag held everything nicely for the one-month trip, from a lightweight sleeping bag, change of clothes, guidebooks, mosquito netting, head torch, first aid kit, notebook, jacket, hat, 3 foot long rubber snake, etc. And, at the end of the trip, I just wiped the bag down with a wet rag and it looked as good as new.
Since my trip to Africa, the bag has accompanied me through the Middle East, Finland, Scotland, England, Wales and France and it still looks great!
Now I use the bag for all of my business travel as well. This is a great bag, built like a tank. Someday, I hope to a get the chance to use the backpacking straps – provided I can find a terrain the wheels on my Cross Roads 25 can’t handle.
I think I’m going to buy the Cross Roads 22 so I can have a carry on version of my present bag for those shorter trips.
Keep up the good work!
